Naloxone (Narcan) is an FDA approved, over the counter nasal spray that rapidly reverses the effects of opioid overdoses (from drugs like heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers). It is safe to use even if opioids are not present and works within 2-3 minutes, restoring a person’s breathing..
A new naloxone box resource was just opened in Greene County. Being prepared to address and reverse an overdose has become invaluable in our area. We are grateful to Action Recovery Resource Center and Ballad Health for providing this resource. Together, they are making Narcan more easily accessible in our region and saving lives
